This transition is facilitated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Digital_object_identifier\">Digital Object Identifier<\/a> system. In Europe, the analogue of Project Euclid is the <a href=\"https:\/\/eudml.org\/\">European Digital Mathematical Library<\/a> (EuDML) which includes the French <a href=\"http:\/\/www.numdam.org\/\">Numdam<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/projecteuclid.org\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8867 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/djalil.chafai.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/euclid-logo.png\" alt=\"Project Euclid Logo\" width=\"200\" height=\"58\" srcset=\"https:\/\/djalil.chafai.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/euclid-logo.png 200w, https:\/\/djalil.chafai.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/euclid-logo-150x44.png 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Project Euclid was developed and deployed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cornell_University_Library\">Cornell University Library<\/a>, with start-up funding provided by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Andrew_W._Mellon_Foundation\">The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation<\/a>, and is now jointly managed by the Cornell Library and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Duke_University_Press\">Duke University Press<\/a>. It was originally created to provide a platform for small scholarly publishers of mathematics and statistics journals to move from print to electronic in a cost-effective way. Through a combination of support by subscribing libraries and participating publishers, Project Euclid has made 70% of its journal articles openly available.
